Process First Automation™

The right engagement starts with the right fit.

Axiant is a process-led consulting firm. We work with a specific type of organization on a specific type of problem. Every engagement begins with a PFA Diagnostic: a structured conversation that produces a written Process Readiness assessment before any scope is proposed.

Small and mid-market companies only.

Who We Work With

Small and mid-market companies whose automation has stalled, failed, or not yet started.

Axiant engagements are built for a specific segment. The PFA methodology is calibrated for small and mid-market operations, and the Diagnostic is designed to serve that segment well. It is not designed to serve every organization with an interest in automation.

  • Small and mid-market focusCompanies with active operations and automation complexity that benefit from a focused methodology.
  • Stalled or failed automation initiativesYou have invested in automation that did not deliver. Or you are evaluating it seriously and want to build on a foundation that holds from the beginning. Both starting points are right for the Diagnostic.
  • Operations or IT ownership of the problemThere is a named person accountable for the automation outcome, not a standing committee. The person applying has the authority to act on the written output.
  • Willingness to start with processYou are open to the possibility that the process needs work before the technology is selected. If the tool is already chosen and the brief is to implement it, this is not the right engagement.
What Axiant Does Not Do

Three engagements we decline.

Stating what we do not do pre-qualifies the right buyers and saves time for both sides. If one of these describes your brief, the PFA Diagnostic is not the right next step.

  • Technology selection in isolationAxiant does not evaluate or select platforms without a process assessment underneath the engagement. Tool selection follows process qualification in every PFA engagement, without exception.
  • Headcount elimination projectsAxiant does not run automation engagements whose primary goal is workforce reduction. Human Amplification is a core PFA principle. Automation that creates leverage is fundamentally different from automation designed to replace people.
  • One-time implementations without governanceIf the brief is to build an automation, hand it off, and walk away with no ongoing stewardship, the PFA Loop cannot be run correctly. Every engagement includes Impact Windows, Kill Thresholds, and ongoing driver measurement. Governance is not optional.
The Starting Point

Take the Free Assessment.

A 45-minute structured conversation with a named Axiant practitioner. You receive a written Process Readiness assessment that identifies your DRIFT profile, scores your process candidates, and maps the right sequence from here. That output is the basis for any engagement that follows.
